The summers are mild and pleasant, and by July it is hot enough to wear a T-shirt during the daytime, but the mornings and evenings, lakes, and mountains are a little too cool for short sleeves, so be sure to bring a parka or long sleeved top. By mid-August, the temperature can exceed 30 degrees Celsius, but by late August, a cool breeze begins to blow.

At Cape Kamui on the Shakotan Peninsula, where nature is vividly colored and known as Shakotan Blue, you can enjoy a spectacular 360-degree panorama. In mid-July, where the lavender fields of Furano are at their best, Kaminokoike Pond is crystal blue, and it is the season to enjoy the patchwork roads and sunflower fields of Biei, as well as trekking and canoeing in spectacular spots where you can feel the great outdoors.
Shujitsu no Oka Hill

Night view of Muroran
It is registered as one of Japan’s Night View Heritage and 100 Best Night Views. It is usually viewed from the Swan Bridge Observatory, Mt. Sokuryozan Observatory, Shiomi Park Observatory, and Shukuzu Park Observatory. There are also cruises around Muroran Port and a night view sightseeing bus service.
JA Memuro Farmer’s Market Aisaiya
The core store is the Memuro Farmers’ Market “Aisaiya,” which sells fresh and delicious vegetables grown by local farmers, and there is also a homemade ice cream store “Aisuya” and a facility for experiencing the processing and cooking of agricultural and livestock products “Midorino Megumi-kan” operated by JA Memuro.
Rishiri Island

Hokuryu Town Sunflower Village

Mt. Asahidake

Kushiro River
The country’s first grade river running through Konsen plateau. The Kushiro Marsh, the largest marshland in Japan, is formed on both banks of the lower reaches. The lower Kushiro River is an ideal place for an introduction to river rafting by canoe.
Moerenuma Park
You can appreciate both art and nature, with the things like the fountain and the hill on the site. The symbol of the museum is a glass pyramid designed by the sculptor Isamu Noguchi.
